A horrific crime has surfaced from Jayantipur village under the Bansgaon police station limits in Gorakhpur, where a young man was brutally stabbed to death by unknown assailants early Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Kartikeya Mishra, also known as Shubham, was sleeping in the verandah of his house when the attackers struck at approximately 5:00 AM. The perpetrators inflicted multiple fatal knife wounds to his head, leaving him severely bleeding and unconscious before fleeing the scene.
Shubham, the youngest of three siblings, was entirely alone at the residence during the time of the attack. His entire family, including his mother Sudha Mishra, was in Lucknow to attend to his father, Swadesh Mishra, who is critically ill and undergoing a kidney transplant. The devastated family has raised serious allegations of administrative negligence, stating that they had previously anticipated an attack and officially informed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) about the imminent danger. According to the family, the victim’s father and elder brother were previously provided with official police protection due to these threats, but the security cover was subsequently withdrawn by the administration, leaving the young man highly vulnerable.
Upon hearing Shubham’s desperate cries for help during the early hours, local villagers immediately rushed to the location. The neighbors transported the critically injured youth to the nearest Primary Health Center (PHC) using an ambulance, but the attending physicians declared him dead on arrival. The tragic news caused deep despair for the family in Lucknow, prompting them to abandon their immediate medical schedules and rush back to Gorakhpur. The family is now demanding strict and immediate action against the perpetrators.
Following the incident, the Bansgaon police, accompanied by senior law enforcement officials, arrived at the location with a heavy police force. The authorities have completely sealed the crime scene, and a forensic team has been deployed to systematically gather scientific evidence. While the exact motive behind the murder remains unclear and the identities of the attackers are yet to be established, the police have registered a murder case against unidentified individuals. Extensive raids are currently being conducted across multiple suspected hideouts to apprehend the culprits and resolve the case at the earliest.
