3 Friends from Agra Killed, 2 Critically Injured as Speeding SUV Overturns on Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

A tragic road accident early Sunday morning on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district claimed the lives of three friends and left two others critically injured. The incident occurred around 4:00 AM near the Belda Junardar roundabout under the Nagal police station limits.

A group of five friends from Agra, who had left home Saturday night for a trip to Haridwar, met with the fatal crash when their speeding Thar SUV lost control. The vehicle violently crashed through the road divider and overturned onto the opposite side of the highway, sustaining catastrophic damage.

Local police responded swiftly to the emergency, extricating the victims and rushing them to the district hospital. Three of the youths—identified as Sahil Tiwari (25), Saksham Upadhyay (22), and Rahul Kumar (24)—were declared dead on arrival by the medical staff. Their two companions, Hemant Verma and Sachin Verma, sustained severe injuries and are currently undergoing intensive treatment.

Authorities have sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations and notified the devastated families in Agra, who were plunged into mourning upon receiving the news of the fatal crash.
