Nayyi Navelli, starring Yami Gautam Dhar, promises a mix of fantasy, comedy, action and supernatural elements. The upcoming entertainer, directed by Maari filmmaker Balaji Mohan, is scheduled to hit theatres on October 16, 2026.
The makers have now unveiled the film’s 3-minute-2-second trailer, introducing audiences to Yami’s mysterious character Mohini and a strange story set in Meerut.
Nayyi Navelli Trailer Sets Up a Mysterious Story
The trailer opens with the arrival of Mohini, a picture-perfect bride who enters a chaotic household in Meerut. She quickly wins over the family with her warmth and cooking skills.
However, not everyone trusts her.
One family member remains suspicious of Mohini and believes that her seemingly perfect personality hides something much darker. As the trailer progresses, glimpses of Mohini’s mysterious identity begin to emerge.
The supernatural angle adds another layer to the otherwise chaotic family setup.
Yami Gautam Plays a Mysterious Bride
Yami Gautam appears to be at the centre of the film’s fantasy-driven story. Her character moves between family drama, humour, emotion and action while keeping her real identity hidden.
Speaking about Mohini, Yami said the character attracted her because she is “never quite what you expect.” She described the role as a combination of family, humour, emotion, fantasy and action.
The trailer also hints that Mohini will eventually face a powerful evil force, setting up a larger supernatural confrontation.
Fantasy, Comedy and Horror Come Together
Nayyi Navelli appears to combine a familiar family setting with supernatural elements. The contrast between the chaotic household and Mohini’s mysterious identity creates the film’s central intrigue.
The trailer suggests that the film will balance spooky moments with comedy rather than relying entirely on horror.
