New Delhi, 23 November 2025 — The central government has dismissed recent claims regarding an alleged oil leakage in the indigenous Tejas fighter aircraft, calling the reports “misleading and factually incorrect.”
According to official sources, the viral posts and videos suggesting technical faults in the Tejas fleet were taken out of context and do not indicate any operational defect. The government clarified that routine maintenance visuals were misinterpreted as a malfunction.
The Defence Ministry stated that the Tejas aircraft undergoes strict quality checks, and no safety-related issues have been reported. Officials added that such misinformation could create unnecessary panic and undermine India’s defence capabilities.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) also confirmed that Tejas fighter jets continue to operate normally and safely, and urged the public not to rely on unverified social media content.
