A newly-wed woman from Niwada village in Baghpat has exposed the nightmare she lived in her husband’s house. She married Danish from Khivai village, Meerut, on 24 October 2024. Within days, her home turned into hell.
Her husband Danish lost heavily at gambling. One night he put his wife as the stake. He lost. Eight men took turns and raped her. She named three attackers — Umesh Gupta, Monu, and Anshul — all from Ghaziabad.
The torture never stopped. Her brother-in-law Shahid and brother-in-law’s friend Shaukin forced themselves on her. Her father-in-law Yameen raped her repeatedly and said, “You brought no dowry, so you must keep us happy.”
When she became pregnant, the family forced abortion. Later, they poured acid on her feet and pushed her into the river to kill her. She survived and escaped to her parents’ house.
Now the accused threaten her father to withdraw the case. The woman reached Baghpat SP office and demanded immediate arrest of all culprits.
Police confirmed they registered FIR under gang-rape, acid attack, forced abortion, and dowry harassment sections. Raids are on to nab the accused.
