Sunny Deol Erupts in Anger at Paparazzi Over Dharmendra’s Health Privacy: ‘Sharam Nahi Aati?’

Bollywood’s iconic action star Sunny Deol is standing guard over his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, amid a tough health scare. The 89-year-old legend was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday after an 11-day stay for breathing issues and ventilator support. But as the Deol family seeks quiet recovery time, Sunny’s frustration boiled over at intrusive paparazzi, leading to a viral video where he lashes out and uses strong language.

The Viral Outburst: Sunny’s Plea for Decency

On Thursday morning, Sunny stepped out of the family’s Juhu residence, only to face a swarm of photographers camped outside. Visibly emotional and exhausted, he folded his hands and confronted them: “Aap logon ko sharam aani chahiye. Aapke ghar mein maa-baap hain, aake bache hain. Aur aap log ch*ya ke tarah video karte ja rahe ho. Sharam nahi aati?” (You should feel ashamed. You have parents and children at home, yet you’re filming like idiots. Don’t you have any shame?).

The heated moment, captured on video, spread like wildfire on social media. Sunny nearly advanced toward the paps but restrained himself and walked back inside. It came right after a leaked, insensitive clip from Dharmendra’s bedside—showing family members, including first wife Prakash Kaur in tears—went viral, heightening the family’s distress.

Dharmendra’s Health Update and Fake News Chaos

Dharmendra was admitted on November 10 after feeling unwell. His condition worsened, requiring a ventilator, but he stabilized and returned home on November 12. Celebrities like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Govinda visited during his stay.

The ordeal was compounded by false death rumors on Tuesday, sparking outrage. Hema Malini, Dharmendra’s wife, shared: “Dharamji’s health is a matter of great concern for us, but he’s recovering. Baki sab upar wale ke haath mein hai (Everything else is in God’s hands). Please pray for us.” Daughter Esha Deol added: “The media is in overdrive spreading false news. Papa is stable and recovering. We request privacy.”

The family issued a statement post-discharge: “Dharmendra has been discharged and will recover at home. Refrain from speculation and respect our privacy.”

Fans Rally Behind Sunny Amid Backlash

Netizens overwhelmingly backed Sunny, flooding comments with support: “Full support to him—paps must stop disturbing,” one Reddit user wrote. Others called it a “valid crash out” and wished Dharmendra a speedy recovery for his 90th birthday next year. Many criticized the media’s insensitivity during a vulnerable time.

This isn’t the first time paparazzi culture has clashed with celebrity privacy, but Sunny’s raw emotion has reignited calls for boundaries in Bollywood.
