Bihar Election 2025: PM Modi Hails Nitish Kumar and NDA Allies for ‘Unprecedented’ Win, Calls It ‘Victory of Good Governance’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and NDA partners on November 14, 2025, celebrating the alliance’s historic sweep in the state Assembly elections as a triumph of “good governance.” In a series of posts on X, Modi described the mandate as “resounding,” crediting the NDA’s track record of all-round development for the landslide.

The NDA stormed to over 208 seats in the 243-member house, eclipsing its 2010 high of 206 and securing a two-thirds majority far beyond the 122 needed. BJP emerged as the single largest party with 93 seats, while JD(U) tallied 83, powering Nitish Kumar toward a record 10th term as CM. Allies like LJP(RV) (19 seats) and HAM (4) bolstered the coalition’s rural and SC outreach.

Modi’s Message: Gratitude, Vision, and NDA Unity

“My deepest gratitude to the people of Bihar, my family, who have blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory in the 2025 Assembly elections,” Modi posted, tagging Kumar, LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan, HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, and RLJM’s Upendra Kushwaha. He emphasized, “The NDA has ensured all-round development of the state. The people have given us a massive majority after witnessing our track record and our vision to take the state to new heights.”

Modi framed the win as a rejection of “jungle raj” and appeasement, aligning with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s praise for the “politics of performance.” He vowed renewed focus on infrastructure and culture, promising Bihar’s “developed” future under the “double-engine” government.

NDA’s Stellar Show vs. Opposition Rout

The victory, fueled by 67.13% turnout—the highest since 1951—rewarded welfare hits like ₹10,000 payouts to 1.41 crore women via Mukhyamantri Rozgar Yojna. Key wins included BJP’s Madhuban and Sahebganj, and JD(U)’s Mokama (Anant Singh by 28,206 votes) and Alauli (Ram Chandra Sada by 35,732).

Mahagathbandhan crumbled to 28-33 seats, with RJD at 26 and Congress at 4-5 (8% strike rate from 61 contests). Tejashwi Yadav lost Raghopur by 9,705 votes; his brother Tej Pratap finished fourth in Mahua. AIMIM grabbed 6 in Seemanchal, splitting votes. Jan Suraaj scored zero, prompting introspection.

Celebrations and Next Steps: Oath-Taking with Modi in Attendance

Patna’s NDA camps buzzed with 500 kg laddus and dhol beats, as BJP’s Dilip Jaiswal and JD(U)’s Lallan Singh lauded the “Modi-Nitish magic.” Kumar’s swearing-in is slated soon at Raj Bhavan, with Modi attending to affirm alliance bonds. Expect BJP deputies like Samrat Choudhary in cabinet, focusing on “Viksit Bihar.”

Opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav alleged SIR “manipulation,” but Shah defended it as “voter purification.” This “tsunami” eyes UP and Bengal polls.
