Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed support for US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. In a statement, Modi welcomed the initiative and called for all parties involved to unite behind Trump’s proposal to achieve a lasting ceasefire and secure peace in the region.
Modi emphasized the importance of collective action, stating, “I hope all concerned will come together behind President Trump’s initiative and support this effort to end conflict and secure peace.” His endorsement follows the White House’s release of the plan on Monday, which outlines an immediate ceasefire, hostage releases within 72 hours, and Gaza’s transformation into a deradicalized, terror-free zone with significant redevelopment.
The plan, accepted by Israel but rejected by Hamas as vague and pro-Israel, has sparked mixed reactions globally. Modi’s call for unity underscores India’s commitment to fostering peace and stability in the Middle East, aligning with its broader diplomatic stance on resolving conflicts through dialogue.
