A 15-year-old Class 10 student was fatally stabbed by a ninth-grade boy at a private school in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, sparking violent protests and vandalism. The victim, belonging to the Sindhi community, was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries the same night.
Protests and Violence
The incident triggered massive outrage, with members of the Sindhi community, parents, Hindu organisations, and ABVP activists gathering outside the school. Protesters vandalised the premises and allegedly assaulted staff, leading to clashes with police. Heavy force was deployed to restore order.
Accused in Custody
The accused student, from the Muslim community, has been taken into custody and will face proceedings under juvenile laws, officials confirmed.
Accountability Demands
Parents and community groups have also filed complaints against the school principal and management, demanding responsibility for the security lapse that led to the crime.
Police said an investigation is underway, while tensions remain high in the area.
Accused’s Chat Reveals Disturbing Details
A disturbing chat exchanged between the accused in the Ahmedabad school stabbing and a friend has surfaced, shedding light on the mindset of the teenager who fatally attacked a Class 10 student at the Seventh Day Adventist School.
In the conversation, the friend asks if the accused committed the stabbing. The accused confirms and urges secrecy, saying he was with his brother who “doesn’t know what happened today.” When told that the victim had died, the accused calmly responds, “Whatever happened has happened now,” and instructs his friend to inform a mutual acquaintance that he had committed the act.
The chat highlights the premeditated nature of the crime and the accused’s shocking indifference to the consequences.
The victim succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday night after the stabbing. The following morning, hundreds of people, including family members, parents, and members of the Sindhi community, gathered at the school demanding action against the administration.

The protest quickly turned violent, with demonstrators vandalizing school buses, cars, and two-wheelers, while assaulting staff. Police initially struggled to regain control but eventually managed to clear the school premises.
Protesters then staged a sit-in on the nearby road, blocking traffic and chanting slogans against law enforcement while demanding accountability from the school administration.
The incident has raised serious concerns over school safety, student conflicts, and administrative oversight in private institutions.
