Israeli Attacks Kill More Gaza Aid Seekers as Starvation Deaths Among Children Reach Crisis Levels

Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least eight Palestinians today, amid a worsening humanitarian crisis. The Health Ministry in Gaza reports five additional deaths from starvation in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of starvation-related fatalities since the start of the war to 217, including 100 children.

According to local sources, today’s Israeli attacks claimed four lives in a drone strike targeting Palestinians in central Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Three more were killed and several wounded as Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians attempting to access humanitarian aid along the Netzarim Corridor. Another fatality occurred near the Morag Corridor in Khan Younis.

The United Nations Security Council is scheduled for an emergency weekend session to address Israel’s newly announced plan to seize control of Gaza City. The plan would involve the forcible displacement of nearly one million Palestinians, deepening international concerns about the safety and wellbeing of civilians in Gaza.

Humanitarian organizations and the UN continue to warn of catastrophic hunger, with severe restrictions on aid causing thousands to be at risk of starvation. Aid deliveries have proven insufficient, and strict limitations have left many Gaza residents—including a rapidly growing number of children—at risk of death from malnutrition and a lack of basic necessities.
