West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued a fiery warning to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the SIR (Special Investigation Report) developments, declaring that any political attempt to target her in Bengal would “shake the entire nation.”
Speaking at a public rally, Mamata accused the BJP of using central agencies to harass opposition leaders. She asserted that Bengal will not tolerate “political intimidation” and that attempts to weaken her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), would backfire at the national level.
Mamata further claimed the ruling party at the Centre is “afraid of Bengal’s rising political influence” and is trying to silence strong regional voices. The BJP, however, dismissed her accusations, calling them an attempt to divert attention from governance issues within the state.
With tensions rising ahead of political events linked to SIR, both parties appear ready for an intense face-off.
