As early vote counts show the BJP-led NDA surging toward a two-thirds majority in Bihar’s 243-seat assembly, Union Minister Giriraj Singh declared the win a clear rejection of “jungle raj” and corruption. Representing Begusarai, the fiery BJP leader predicted West Bengal’s Trinamool Congress government is next to fall, calling it a hub of “anarchy influenced by external elements.”
NDA’s Dominant Start: Crossing Majority Mark
Counting began at 8 a.m. on November 14, with postal ballots favoring the NDA. By 10:30 a.m., trends across 192 seats gave the alliance 150+, well past the 122-seat majority. JD(U) leads with 76 seats, edging out BJP’s 72, while allies like LJP add 15. The Mahagathbandhan trails at 78-92, with RJD at 34 and Congress at 10.
Singh, speaking to India Today and Aaj Tak, said: “Bihar ki jeet humaari hai, ab Bengal ki baari hai” (Bihar’s victory is ours; now it’s Bengal’s turn). He credited voters for choosing “peace, justice, and development” over chaos, noting progress like new engineering colleges in every district and upgraded schools replacing subpar “Charvaha Vidyalayas.”
The minister dismissed opposition figures like Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, and Rahul Gandhi as symbols of corruption: “Why vote for these people? Their elders remember the disorder; even Tejashwi’s short stint showed attempts at anarchy.”
No Confusion on Leadership: Nitish Kumar to Stay
On CM prospects, Singh quashed speculation: “Nitish Kumar has led effectively. The government forms under him—no confusion. If it were RJD, questions would arise, but here it’s clear.” This aligns with exit polls projecting NDA at 147-167 seats, against Mahagathbandhan’s 77-92.
Celebrations erupted in NDA camps, with 500 kg of laddus prepared in Patna bearing PM Modi and Nitish Kumar’s images. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj lags at 1 seat. Voter turnout hit a record 66.91%, boosting expectations of a decisive verdict.
