Bollywood veteran Govinda collapsed at his Mumbai residence on Tuesday night, leading to an urgent hospital admission. His lawyer and close friend, Lalit Bindal, confirmed the 62-year-old actor is now stable, with all essential tests completed and a neuro consultation pending.
Bindal shared with India Today: “He was feeling disoriented. All tests are done, and we are now awaiting reports and opinion of neuro consultation. He is stable now.” Medical teams at the facility conducted a thorough check-up upon arrival, ruling out immediate complications.
This health scare follows a similar incident over a year ago. In October 2024, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg with his licensed revolver while preparing for a Kolkata show. The mishap happened around 5 a.m. when the gun fell and discharged. He later recounted: “I was leaving for a show in Kolkata… woh giri aur chal padi (it fell and misfired)… I was stunned and then I saw a fountain of blood coming out.”
Rushed to CritiCare Hospital near Juhu, Govinda underwent an hour-long surgery to remove the bullet from under his knee. His manager explained: “Govinda was keeping his licensed revolver inside a cupboard when he dropped the weapon and it went off.” He spent time in the ICU but recovered fully and returned to work.
Fans and industry peers expressed relief on social media, with many sending prayers for a swift recovery. Govinda, known for hits like Coolie No. 1 and Hero No. 1, continues to balance acting and politics. Updates on his condition will follow as reports come in.
