“Teacher’s Acid Attacker Shot and Caught in Sambhal: Public Demands Justice”

A young schoolteacher in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, suffered a horrific acid attack while returning home. The attacker, riding a scooter, threw acid directly on her face and stomach, causing severe injuries. Her screams alerted locals, who rushed her to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed she had suffered 20 to 30 percent burns, and she later required transfer to a better-equipped facility.

The victim, Bhavana, aged 22, showed remarkable courage during police questioning. She declared, “I want him to suffer the same pain.” Her statement ignited public outrage and renewed calls for stricter punishment in acid attack cases.

Police quickly identified the accused as Nishu Tiwari, a 30-year-old man from Amroha district. Officers located him near Kalyanpur village. When they attempted to arrest him, he opened fire. In response, the police fired back and hit him in both legs. They captured him alive and recovered a country-made pistol, two cartridges, and the scooter used in the attack.

During interrogation, Nishu cried, folded his hands, and pleaded for forgiveness. However, the Senior Superintendent of Police refused to show leniency and assured the public that the law would take its full course. Authorities registered a case under Section 326A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with acid attacks, along with other relevant sections.

Bhavana’s family shared that her wedding had been scheduled just two months from now. The assault not only shattered their plans but also shocked the entire village. Still, they vowed to stand strong and fight for justice.

Women’s rights groups and local leaders demanded the fastest possible trial. The community now waits to see if this brutal act receives the punishment it deserves.
