Akhilesh Yadav Predicts BJP’s Wipeout in Uttar Pradesh 2027 Assembly Elections

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on September 15, 2025, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Uttar Pradesh, declaring that the ruling party would be completely wiped out in the 2027 Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Engineers’ Day, Yadav accused the state administration of operating outside the Constitution and the rule of law, likening the BJP to a “gang” rather than a legitimate political entity.

“The BJP is not a political party; it is a kind of a gang. People have understood the BJP; in the 2027 Assembly election, the people will wipe out the BJP,” Yadav asserted. He emphasized that public sentiment has turned against the BJP due to its governance failures, predicting a decisive voter backlash that would end its dominance in the state.

Yadav highlighted the BJP’s alleged mismanagement across key sectors, claiming the government has “ruined education, health, and law and order.” Specifically, he pointed to the destruction of medical institutions established during his previous SP regime and broader institutional decay under the current administration led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He also promoted his party’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak—Backwards, Dalits, and Minorities) strategy as the only force capable of safeguarding social justice and defeating the BJP’s “negative politics.”

This prediction aligns with Yadav’s earlier statements throughout 2025, where he repeatedly forecasted a BJP rout in 2027, often tying it to the SP’s strong performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the party secured 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh. He has accused the BJP of “electoral corruption,” economic mismanagement like inflation and GST issues, and attempts to undermine reservations and land rights through measures such as the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. Yadav has consistently positioned the SP and its INDIA bloc allies as the path to forming the next government, urging voters to use the 2027 polls to restore socialism, protect democracy, and control inflation.

The remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in Uttar Pradesh, including recent bypolls and preparations for the 2027 elections, where the SP aims to consolidate its OBC and minority vote banks against the BJP’s Hindutva and development narrative.
