Akhanda 2 Release Postponed: Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Action Spectacle Delayed Due to Post-Production Work

Fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna will have to wait a bit longer for the release of his highly anticipated film Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Sreenu. The sequel, which was initially scheduled to hit theatres on September 25, 2025, aligning with the Dussehra festivities, has now been officially postponed due to extensive post-production work.

The makers took to their official social media handles to share the news. In the statement, they highlighted that Akhanda 2 reunites the iconic combo of “God of Masses” Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu – a duo renowned for delivering mass entertainers that have defined Telugu cinema.

They further explained that due to the film’s grand scale and high expectations following the success of the first installment, the team is prioritizing quality over speed, especially in VFX, re-recording, and other post-production aspects. As a result, more time is required to ensure the film lives up to audience expectations.

While no new release date has been announced yet, the team assured fans that the wait will be worth it. They concluded their note by saying,

“We are fully committed to exceeding all expectations and giving audiences a theatrical experience worth the wait. Akhanda 2 will not just be a film — it will be a festival of cinema.”

Balakrishna was last seen in Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli, and Akhanda 2 remains one of the most awaited Telugu films on the horizon.
