UP Flood 2025: Yamuna and Utangan Rivers Rise Again
Floods continue to disrupt life in Uttar Pradesh as the Yamuna and Utangan rivers rise dangerously. Water released from Dholpur’s Angai (Parvati) dam pushed the Utangan river into spate and triggered chaos in Agra’s Bah-Pinahat region. On Wednesday, floodwaters submerged the bridge at Toda village and cut off Seha, Toda, Siyapura, and Shahpur Khalsa villages from the tehsil headquarters Fatehabad.
Crops in Floodplains and Terai Face Complete Destruction
Floodwaters already destroyed crops in the floodplains, and now they have entered farmlands in the Terai region. Farmers fear huge losses of millet, sesame, and vegetables. Villagers live in constant fear as water creeps toward residential areas.
Toda and Neighboring Villages Cut Off from Fatehabad
The rising waters continue to threaten Toda, Seha, Arnota, Gurawali, Serb, Sabora, Bidhapura, Basai Arela, Basai Bhadauria, Kankarkheda, Manikpura, Pidhaura, Kaundh, and Reethai. Local leaders confirm that floodwaters already block access routes.
UP Flood 2025: Yamuna Surges After Utangan Joins at Reethai
In Reethai village, where the Yamuna and Utangan rivers meet, floodwaters surged again after a brief decline. The Utangan’s strong flow lifted the Yamuna’s level and spread water across nearly 35 villages in Bah. Water entered Badapura, Vikrampur, Charitha, Gaganki, and Kachauraghat villages.
Chambal River Flood Adds to the Crisis
The Chambal river also flooded 18 villages in Bah tehsil and forced over 12,000 residents to struggle. Last month, floodwaters wiped out thousands of acres of millet, sesame, and vegetable crops. Although the water level fell from 130.30 meters to 124.30 meters, villagers still face hardship due to mud and swampy tracks.
Electricity Disruption and Villagers’ Demands
Flooding also disrupted electricity in several villages. Residents of Ranipura, Bhatpura, Gohra, Gudha, Reha, Dagora, and Kachiyara have lived without power for days. Village leaders demanded urgent restoration of electricity and relief measures.
