Fashion designer-turned-producer Manish Malhotra has unveiled the teaser of his debut film Gustaakh Ishq, and it promises a heartfelt tale of old-school romance. Featuring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles, the film also stars veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.
Adding to the film’s charm is the music by Vishal Bhardwaj, who is known for his soulful, timeless compositions. The lyrics, penned by legendary poet and lyricist Gulzar, enhance the film’s classic romantic appeal.
Interestingly, Naseeruddin Shah seems to be playing an antagonist or a morally complex character, adding tension to the central love story. While Sharib Hashmi’s role hasn’t been fully revealed, his presence adds weight to the ensemble.
Previously titled Ul Jalool Ishq, the film was renamed Gustaakh Ishq, which better captures the poetic, soulful nature of the story. The subtitle “Kucch Pehle Jaisa” hints at the film’s nostalgic theme.
Gustaakh Ishq is slated to release in theatres in November this year. The film is produced by Manish Malhotra and his brother Dinesh Malhotra under their banner, Stage5 Production.
