UP Minister’s Car Towed for Traffic Violation at Assembly Premises

During the Monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad’s vehicle was towed by traffic authorities after being found parked in a no-parking zone within the Assembly premises on Thursday. The incident reportedly caused a brief traffic disruption inside the complex.

Nishad, who arrived in a white Toyota Fortuner to attend the session, had his car parked by his driver in a restricted area. In response to the obstruction, authorities called in a crane to remove the vehicle. A video capturing the vehicle being lifted quickly circulated on social media.

Sanjay Nishad is the National President of the Nishad Party and currently serves as the Minister of Fisheries. He was appointed to the Cabinet on March 25, 2022.

Thursday marked the final day of the Monsoon session, during which four Bills — including the Shri Banke Bihari Temple Trust Bill, 2025 — were passed before the Assembly was adjourned sine die by Speaker Satish Mahana.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the House, presenting a report on the government’s performance since 2017. He emphasized progress in law and order, infrastructure development, and governance, asserting that Uttar Pradesh now enjoys a “fear-free environment.
