Actress Mrunal Thakur has finally addressed the buzz linking her to Tamil superstar Dhanush, clarifying that their bond is purely platonic. The speculation began after the two were spotted together on several occasions, sparking whispers of a Bollywood–Kollywood romance.
Speaking to Only Kollywood, Mrunal laughed off the rumours, saying, “Dhanush is just a good friend to me.” She called the gossip “funny” and insisted there was nothing romantic between them.
The actress also explained the recent chatter about Dhanush attending the Son of Sardaar 2 screening. Contrary to popular belief, she revealed it was Ajay Devgn—not her—who invited the actor. “No one should misunderstand that,” she said, putting an end to the speculation.
Rumours had intensified when Mrunal attended the wrap-up party of Tere Ishq Mein, Dhanush’s upcoming film with Aanand L Rai. Their brief interaction at the Son of Sardaar 2 event and Mrunal’s recent Instagram connection with Dhanush’s sisters only fueled the gossip further.
Dhanush, who separated from filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth in 2022 after 18 years of marriage, shares two sons, Linga and Yatra, with her.
For now, Mrunal’s statement seems to have silenced the romance rumours—though fans remain watchful for any new developments.
