In the past 24 hours, Israeli air and ground assaults across Gaza have left at least 89 Palestinians dead — among them 31 people seeking aid — and 513 others injured, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The ministry also reported that five more Palestinians, including two children, have died from starvation, bringing the total number of hunger-related deaths in the enclave to 227, of which 103 were children.
Meanwhile, Palestinians have buried five Al Jazeera journalists killed in targeted Israeli strikes. The assassinations sparked global protests in cities including London, Berlin, Tunis, and Ramallah. The EU, China, and Germany — a key Israeli ally — condemned the attack, while the UN labelled it a “grave breach of international humanitarian law.”
Since the war began, at least 61,599 Palestinians have been killed and 154,088 wounded in Gaza. On October 7, 2023, attacks in Israel left an estimated 1,139 dead and more than 200 taken hostage.
