In a shocking incident in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a man was brutally killed by his brother-in-law over a ₹5,000 dispute in Naanu village under the Akrabad police station area. The murder took place around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, when Vineet Kumar, 30, was stabbed multiple times, resulting in his intestines spilling out. Vineet’s friend, Shilendra alias Seetu, was also injured while trying to intervene and was attacked with an axe.
According to police, Vineet, a resident of Nagla Kothi under Harduaganj police station, had borrowed ₹5,000 from his brother-in-law, Manvendra alias Bantu, from Naanu village. On Tuesday night, Vineet, accompanied by Seetu, visited Manvendra’s house after Vineet’s sister, Khushbu, called him to repay the loan. An argument over the repayment escalated into a physical altercation. In a fit of rage, Manvendra stabbed Vineet repeatedly with a knife. Seetu, attempting to intervene, was attacked with an axe, sustaining injuries.
Seetu alerted Vineet’s family and relatives using his mobile phone. Police rushed both victims to a Community Health Centre (CHC), where Seetu received treatment and was later discharged. Vineet, critically injured, was referred to the medical college but was declared dead on arrival. The police and forensic team collected evidence from the scene, but the knife and axe used in the attack were not found.
Manvendra fled the scene after the murder but was arrested by the police on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Vineet’s body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem, and his last rites were performed in a somber atmosphere in Nagla Kothi village on Wednesday evening.
Vineet leaves behind his wife, Priyanka, and two young children, Kanishka (5) and Anirudh (3). Family members revealed that Vineet’s elder sister, Poonam, is married to Manvendra’s elder brother, Anil, while Khushbu is married to Manvendra. Both families are engaged in farming, and Vineet was a farmer by occupation.
Seetu recounted that Manvendra was heavily intoxicated during the altercation, which was fueled by the dispute over the loan repayment. Family members described the brutality of the attack, noting that Vineet’s intestines were exposed due to the severity of the stab wounds.
Circle Officer (Barla) Garvit Singh confirmed that the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, driven by a dispute over money while Manvendra was under the influence of alcohol. Based on a complaint filed by Vineet’s family, a case has been registered, and Manvendra is in custody. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details.
